Anyone for camping?

Don't worry I don't actually mean camping. Last week we were making tent cards and here's a few samples.

If you want the instructions pop over to Splitcoaststampers they're so easy to make.

52 card challenge

Over on UK Scrappers they are holding a 52 card challenge. Don't panic you don't have to make 52 cards in one go! Every Monday you will be given 3 prompts to get your mojo started. They're onto week 4 so I'm going to join in before I get too far behind. I haven't done a card for week 3 yet so only 1 to catch up.

A Birthday card but not as we know it

For my friend Gill's birthday last weekend I thought I would make her a little plaque rather than a card. She loves cats so I used that freebie from The Craft Stamper. I wanted to say hello as rather than Happy Birthday as she lives about 50 miles away and I don't see her as much as I'd like.
So if you've dropped by Gill I hope you had a lovely day and we must get together soon.

UK Stampers card sketches

Over on UK Stampers Gail has started up a card sketch challenge. Once a fortnight she posts a sketch and you have to make a card to suit. It's a great way of collecting a few ideas especially when the mojo's gone walkabout. If you click on the UK Stampers button on the side of my blog it will take you to the main page then all you need to select is the gallery button on the header. Any way enough of the teccie stuff here my card. I'm getting started on all those Valentines cards I 'll need..... .... for the class I'm teaching.

I've used some of that Coredinations Black Magic card for the background and embossed it with a cuttlebug folder. I've used a sanding block to remove the top coat of black to reveal the pink card behind. The front panel was stamped and embossed in black, the stamp is by Chapel Road Artstamps. The scallop edge is a die from Sir Tim. Sorry no photo of the inside but I bet you have guessed what I stamped inside!

One down half a dozen to go. Thanks for popping by

New Home

I forgot to share with you this lovely birdhouse that we made at one of the Crafty Individuals workshops before Christmas. I hung him on our tree during Christmas but he now lives in my craft room. We painted the little house and used small torn pieces of beautiful coloured tissue paper to decorate. I'm sorry that my photo doesn't really do the paint finish justice but it's really sparkly.

Happy 2011

Happy 2011 everyone. Do you start the year with a load of good intentions well so do I and do you keep them ? No neither do I but each year I start off convincing myself that this is the year that I will  a) go to the gym more often, b) stop eating so much chocolate c) use the stash I have before buying more. But what would our world be like if we didn't have hope. So yet again I'm going to hope that I can keep to it. In the meantime this is a busy time for me with lots of Birthdays this month and a wedding anniversay (mine 25 years.... wow that makes me feel very old) so I've made a start. here's a card for my great nephew (now I feeling even older) who is 11 today. Happy Birthday Alex.
